7.2
Inert gas installation
Only applies to K5N machines
The inert gas connection point is located in the
bottom part of the machine. It is accessed by
removing the panelling on the left-hand side of the
machine.
§
The inert gas valve (1) with the hose connection
nozzle is located in the top right. Insert the hose
(3) (øi 9 mm) up into the machine and connect it
to the nozzle using a clip (2).

IMPORTANT
Comply with the regulations for the inert gas supply. Read “Inert gas connection” in the section
on “Interface definition”!
7.3
Pouring in oil
The oil is drained out of the vacuum pump while the
machine is transported, in accordance with safety
regulations.
In order to check the oil level and pour oil in, remove
the panelling on the right of the machine.

Check the inspection glass (6) on the vacuum
pump to ensure that there is no oil in the oil
chamber of the vacuum pump.

Open the filler neck (4) and pour oil in slowly until the oil level in the upper inspection glass (5) rises
to the “max.” mark.
IMPORTANT
Only use an oil which has been recommended by the pump manufacturer! Read the section on
“Process oils” for details of the recommended oils. If an oil with different properties is used,
this may lead to disruptions in operations or to damage!

Close the filler neck (4) and refit the panelling.
7.4
Cleaning the machine
§
Remove any adhesive tape or other material left over from the packaging. Clean the vacuum
chamber and the vacuum chamber lid thoroughly. No dirt may get into the suction nozzle. The
section on “Cleaning” contains information on suitable detergents.
