Testing
Running Parameter Tests
The luminaire is capable of running self tests by using the
TEST
menu functions. For
complete details and values for each test refer to
“Diagnostic Tests” on page 16
.
When running tests on multiple luminaires, a DMX termination connector is required at the
last luminaire in the chain. (Refer to user’s manual for more information regarding the
construction of this connector.)
Note:
There is a known issue with all versions of code for the Series 500 luminaires
concerning the “Test” menu options. Issues may arise when running a test from one type of
Series 500 wash luminaire to multiple Series 500 wash luminaires (of a different type) across
the Series 500 wash platform. To alleviate this, when testing in groups, only test same Lamp
Type luminaires with other Series 500 wash luminaires. The issue, described above, does not
pose any issues or problems when operating Series 500 wash luminaires during normal
operation under DMX control.

To run tests:
Step 1. Press [Menu].
Step 2. Press [Up] / [Down] arrows until Test appears. Press [Enter].
Step 3. Use [Up] / [Down] arrows to select a parameter to test. Refer to
“VL550 Test
Menu System Chart” on page 17
for a complete list of test parameters which can
be chosen.
Step 4. Press [Enter] to run test.
Step 5. Press [Menu] to stop test at any time.
Note:
Connected luminaires may not respond on the first action (may delay) of the master
luminaire.
