8.2.1. Designing and Connecting the Vehicle Harness
The vehicle manufacturer is responsible for designing a vehicle harness that mates
with the VMM3120 connector(s).
The vehicle harness design depends on the following:
How the VMM3120's inputs, outputs, communication, and power pins are
configured.
Other components on the vehicle and their physical locations.
The routing of the harness.
Suggested wire sizing for the various connections are as follows:
Inputs, 18 AWG
Outputs, 16 AWG
Logic power and ground, 18 AWG
Other powers and grounds, 16 AWG
Busbar power, if applicable, 14 AWG per 20 A of current (or 8 AWG per 40
A of current for single pin busbar connectors)
Once the vehicle harness is designed, it can be connected to the VMM3120
simply by clicking the mating connector into the connector port on the
VMM3120.

Use the following guidelines when installing the VMM3120 in a vehicle.
