Installing Flash and CMEM

Considerations

Regarding upgrades to release 6.2, it is recommended that method 2 should be used

whenever possible.

When using Vanguide to upgrade to release 6.2, refuse the bootprom upgrade

when asked, unless you have an 8MEG flash SIMM already installed. Then

when upgrading to 8MEG is desired, follow recommendation "2" below.

If the node to be upgraded still has the 5.1 bootprom with a 6.2 image, it is

recommended that you download a 6.1 image into the node and then go directly

to method 2. This could happen if you used TFTP or Procomm, or Flash to Flash

crossload to get 6.2 to the node.

Go directly to method 2 (valid for 8MEG SIMM inclusion).
