The parameter name and allowed parameter values depend on the command. For certain
commands they are optional. In the following command descriptions, WMT700
configuration mode prompt and enter are left out for clarity.
5.4.1 S — Set Parameter
The
S
command defines new data messages and changes values of the WMT700
parameters.
You can also use the
S command to configure data messages.
If you try to set an invalid value for a parameter or an invalid item for a data message, the
response depends on the messages parameter. If messages are enabled (messages
parameter is set to 1), WMT700 responds with an error message. If the messages parameter
has been set to 0, WMT700 does not send any response to set parameter command. You
can also fetch the most recent error data in the configuration mode with the
ERRORS
command.
Do not switch the power supply off immediately after the
S
command. Power must be on
for at least 5 seconds after the S command to save the updated parameters.

Example 1
In this example the baud rate is set to 2400 bps, parity to even, data bits to 8 bits, and stop
bits to 1 bit. WMT700 needs to be RESET before the communication settings take place.

You can also change or view the serial port settings with the
BAUD
command. With the
BAUD command the communication settings take place immediately.
