2.3 Intended
use
The VRC 430 control is a state-of-the-art appliance
which has been constructed in accordance with
recognised safety regulations.
Even so, in the event of inappropriate or non-intended
use, impairment of the device and other real values can
arise.
The controller VRC 430 is designed for the weather-
compensated and time-dependent control of a heating
installation with or without hot water preparation/
circulation pump in combination with a Vaillant boiler
with eBUS interface.
Operation with the following accessories is permissible:
– Circulation pump for the hot water provision in
combination with a multi-functional module VR 40
– Ventilation unit
– Conventional hot water storage
– Vaillant layer storage actoSTOR
– Second heating circuit using the Vaillant Mixer Module
VR 61
– Solar system using the Vaillant Solar Module VR 68
– Commercially available 230-V components (e.g. valves,
cylinder thermostats) in combination with the Control
Center VR 65
The Control Center VR 65 cannot be used with a mixer
module VR 61 or a solar module VR 68.
– 230-V cylinder thermostat in combination with the
relay box VR 41
– VR 81 remote control device
Any other use or extended use is considered to be use
other than intended. The manufacturer or supplier is not
liable for any resulting damage. The owner alone bears
any risk.
Intended use also includes observance of the operating
and installation instructions and all other documents
also have validity.
3 Safety instructions and regulations
The VRC 430 must be installed by a suitably qualified
heating engineer, who is responsible for adhering to the
existing standards and regulations. We accept no liability
for any damage caused by failure to observe these
instructions.
3.1 Safety

Danger!
Voltage carrying connections!
When working in the control cabinet of the
boiler there is a danger to life by electric shock.
Switch the power supply off before working in
the control cabinet and secure against
re-connection.
Open the control cabinet only when the boiler is
potential-free.
3.2 Regulations
During the electrical installation, observe the regulations
of your local power supplier.
All wiring must be in accordance with Building
Regulations Part P and BS 7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations),
and must be carried out by a suitably qualified person
Use standard commercial cables for wiring.
Minimum cross-section for sensor and Bus lines:
0.75 mm

Do not exceed the following maximum wire lengths:
– Sensor lines 50 m
– eBUS lines 300 m
If sensor and eBUS lines run parallel with 230 V cables
for more than 10 m, they must be laid separately with a
distance of at least 25cm.
Do not use free terminals of the appliances as support
terminals for other wiring.
