Auto_Off (user level for the installer)

In the screen C21 "Entire system parameters" the control
behaviour in the operating mode Automatic  for the
times in which no time windows are programmed can be
laid down in the menu point "Mode Auto_Off". The
options are Frost protection, ECO and Set-back.
–

Frost protection

In the times when no time windows are programmed
the boiler is switched off. The frost protection function
(see location) is active.

–

ECO

In the times when no time windows are programmed
the boiler is switched off. The outside temperature is
monitored. If the outside temperature falls below 3 °C,
the room set target value is set to the preset set-
backtemperature  (minimum 5 °C). This room set
target value is used for control. A set frost protection
delay time (see location) has an effect on the start of
this control. If the outside temperature rises above 4
°C, the monitoring  of the outside temperature
remains active, the boiler is switched off.

–

Set-back

In the times when no time window is programmed, the
set target room temperature is set to the pre-set set-
back temperature  (minimum 5 °C). This room set
target value is used for control.

Forward flow temperature

See heating flow temperature.

Frost protection delay time

By setting the frost protection delay time (installer
level), the initiation of heating control by the frost
protection function (outside temperature < 3 °C) can be
delayed by a specified time period (1 - 12 hours).
The set frost protection delay time also works in the
"ECO" function in the "Auto_Off" mode (see location).
The frost protection delay time starts when the outside
temperature falls below 3 °C.

Frost protection function

The frost protection system protects your heating
system and your apartment from frost damage. It
remains active in the operating mode "OFF".
The frost protection function monitors the
outside temperature. If the outside temperature falls
below 3 °C, the heating pump is switched on for approx.
10 mins and thereafter switched off for 10 to 60 min
(depending on the degree of the outside temperature). If
the heating flow temperature is less than 13 °C, the
burner in the boiler is switched on and the control refers
to a target room temperature of 5 °C. If the outside
temperature rises above 4 °C, the monitoring of
the outside temperature remains active, the heating
pump and the burner are switched off.
If the outside temperature falls below -20 °C, the burner
in the boiler is switched on directly and the control
refers to a target room temperature of 5 °C.

Heating circuit (HC1)

HC1 indicates heating circuit 1. This refers to the heating
of your heating system. If you wish to use a special
designation you can use a different designation in place
of HC1 (see operating instructions Section 4.7.5).

Heating curve

The heating curve (Heizkurve) represents the
relationship between outside temperature and the flow
temperature. The selection of  a heating curve allows
the influencing of the flow temperature
of your heating system and therefore also the room
temperature.
The capability of selecting various heating curves allows
the control, in combination with the room control  (see
location), to be optimised to the apartment and to the
heating system.
Fig. G.1 shows the possible heating curves for a room
target temperature of 20 °C.
If, for example, heating curve 1.5 is selected, a flow
temperature of 56 °C is maintained at an outside
temperature of 0 °C.
