Driving instructions
3.1
Direction of travel
Figure 3.1
1 The first run should be made immediately after harvesting and at 20° - 40°
to the direction of
threshing.
2 The second run should be made at 20° - 40° to the previous run.
The final run before drilling must not be made in the direction in which drilling is intended to take
place.
Where drilling is to be carried out using a Väderstad Rapid, its front tool will provide optimal con-
ditions if the last run prior to drilling is carried out obliquely to the intended direction of drilling.
3.2
Driving speed
To ensure optimal mixing of straw and crop residue, the implement should be driven at a speed of
10 - 14 km/h. Better cultivation results will be achieved by increasing driving speed.
3.3
Weight distribution
The weight distribution between tractor and implement can be affected by changing the hitching
point on the implement for the tractor's hydraulic arms. A low hitching point increases the weight
on the tractor and reduces the weight on the implement during driving.
A high hitching point reduces the weight on the tractor and increases the weight on the implement
during driving. Also see
“2.4.2 Hitching point for hydraulic arms” on page 20
.
