
Drive Shaft and Final Drive
7.1 Description and Specifications
Power is delivered from the gearbox to the rear wheel by a drive shaft ("propeller shaft")
and final drive with bevel gears. The drive shaft is connected to the gearbox via a
flexible rubber collar that helps dampen torque impulses
and a universal joint to allow suspension travel of the rear wheel (Figure 7.1-1).
