4. Selecting the Internal Chime
3 different chimes are available. They can be selected with the dip switch (26) Chime at the rear panel of the UCA
8240.
Chime off
1-tone chime
2-tone chime
4-tone chime
The chime is triggered by pressing the Talk button of the desktop mic UPM 8001.

Alternativly the chime can also be
triggered by shorting pin 4 and 5 of the
RJ45 connector (41) for UPM 8001.
The volume control (27) next to the dip switch (26) for selecting the chime can be used for adjusting the chime
level.
Info:
The paging station UPM 8006 generates it’s own chime signals and does not trigger the internal chime of the UCA 8240.

In order to use the RJ 45 connector with the desktop mic UPM 8001 the dip
switch (38) PTT and Phantom for Mic 1 must be in the ‚on’ position (downward).
A paging call via UPM 8001 is routed into all zones and has priority over all other
signals except signals from the TEL.EMER input and any connected desktop
mics UPM 8006.
The Mic1 XLR input and the Mic1 RJ 45 connector (41) cannot be used simultaneously!
