When distributing fertiliser at the border of the field, near ditches, etc., the limiting shield
should be installed in the following manner:
If the first pass route is located at the distance of 1.5
–2 m from the border of the field (e.g. in
the case of a seed drill with the width of 3 m, the distance between the pass route and the
border of the field is 1.5 m), the shield should be placed in the centre and set at the
appropriate angle. Border fertilisation (Fig. 8) takes place with open chamber
2
. Fertiliser
chamber 1 is closed in this case.

Driving techniques
Taking into consideration the tips given in sections 5 and 6, travel around the field clockwise
on the first pass path each time (to the right).
After driving around the field, replace the
TL
border disc with the
LM
distribution disc again.
Centrifugal distributors also spread the fertiliser backwards; therefore, in order to distribute
fertiliser precisely at the beginning of the pass path when opening and closing the distribution
slot at the borders of the field, the range of the distribution zone should be taken into
consideration.
Travelling one way (pass paths
T 1
,
T 2
, etc.), as well as travelling the other way (pass paths
T
3
, etc.).
-
opening of the damper
– when travelling one way, more or less at point
P 1
, when the
tractor crosses the second path (dotted line);
-
closing of the damper
– when travelling the other way (back) at point
P 2
, when the tractor
is right by the first pass path.
NOTE:
The application of the described distribution manner makes it possible to avoid
fertiliser loss, insufficient fertilisation, excessive fertilisation as well as to protect
natural environment
.
