Drill two mounting holes according to the markings. The di-
ameter of the holes must be 5mm. Insert a plastic dowel

into each of the two mounting holes (see picture C).
Place the mounting plate

on the plastic dowel

Secure the mounting plate

onto the plastic dowel

using the screws

(see picture C).
Connect the battery

and place it inside the battery
housing

(see picture D).
Place the smoke alarm on the mounting plate

. Turn the
smoke alarm in a clockwise direction until the smoke alarm
is locked in the right position (see picture E).
Initial use
Inspecting the smoke alarm
Test every smoke alarm to ensure correct installation and
operation.
Do not test the alarm with an open lame. This may cause
damage.
Test the alarm every week or after a prolonged absence.
During the test, stand at arms length from the smoke alarm
to avoid hearing damage.
Test all smoke alarms on a weekly basis as follows: press
and hold down the test button for approx 5 seconds. You
will hear 3 short signal tones, a pause lasting 1.5 seconds
