Test the smoke alarm with the test button. Press and hold
down the test button

for around 5 seconds. The alarm
will sound as follows: 3 short signal tones, a pause lasting
1.5 seconds and then a repeat.
If you don't here the signal tones, your smoke alarm is faulty
or incorrectly installed. Repair the problem according to
the instructions under the section “Correcting Faults”.
Always test the smoke alarm after replacing the battery.
Cleaning and Care
Wipe down the alarm at least once a month. Remove the
battery before cleaning.
You can alternatively use a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner.
Ensure that all of the appliance's openings are dust-free.
If the appliance is very dirty, remove the battery and wipe
it with a damp cloth.
After cleaning, insert the battery again and proceed by
performing a comprehensive test as described in the sec-
tion “Inspecting the Smoke Alarm”.
Important: Never clean the inside of the alarm. If you do,
you will lose your warranty claims.
