REGULATOR FAILURE
Never run the engine if the regulator is disconnected from the battery !!!!!!
- Output power (volts) depends on RPM (see alternator output)
- Measure across the bve and –ve terminals with a voltmeter on ‘Volts DC’ whilst the
regulator is connected and the engine is running
- A fully charged battery should read 14.3 – 14.5 V. (
at least 12.5 v is needed to fly safely
)
VOLTAGE DROP ON REGULATOR
Field experience has shown that in most cases a voltage drop on the regulator is generally caused
by a poor battery. Replace the battery and retest.
Regulator: no power output or voltage drop
