Coolant replenishment
1. Stop the engine.
2. After the engine has completely
cooled down, check the engine
coolant level in the expansion
tank. If the level is between the
MIN and MAX lines, it is normal.
If it is below the MIN level, add
coolant solution up to the MAX
level.
3. Check and make sure that there
i s n o l e a k s . I f f o u n d l e a k s
c o n t a c t n e a r e s t U D Tr u c k s
authorised dealer.
Checking and cleaning of radiator
To maintain cooling system efficiency
a n d k e e p t h e e n g i n e f r o m
overheating, always keep the front
radiator core clean. Remove insects,
dirt and other debris by directing
pressurized air at the rear surface of
the radiator core.
Clean charge air cooler body
The charge air cooler is installed in
front of the radiator which is used to
cool the heated intake air charged by
the turbocharger.
When mud or debris is attached to
the front of the core, the passage of
c o o l i n g a i r i s i m p a i r e d . S o i t i s
r e c o m m e n d e d t h a t t h i s m a t e r i a l
should be removed completely by
w a s h i n g w i t h a n o n c o r r o s i v e
detergent and water solution. (Refer
t o i n s t r u c t i o n s o n t h e d e t e r g e n t
container). Deformed fins can also
i m p a i r c o o l i n g a n d s h o u l d b e
repaired. Clean the inside by blowing
with air when changing charge air
cooler hoses.
CAUTION
Do not direct pressurized air to
the front surface of the radiator
( t h a t i s , w i t h t h e a i r h o s e
p o i n t e d t o w a r d t h e e n g i n e ) .
Doing so will force insects, dirt
a n d o t h e r d e b r i s i n t o t h e
r a d i a t o r c o r e a n d p o s s i b l y
cause engine overheating.
CAUTION
E n s u r e p r e c a u t i o n s w h e n
washing near the alternator.
Using a moist alternator brush
w i l l s h o r t e n t h e l i f e o f t h e
alternator. Use an alternator
that has been sufficiently dried
using air-blower.
