Appendix C-1 Transponder Monitor Mode Installation Note
The Transponder Monitor mode is the simplest and most common installation
configuration for the echoUAT. Squawk and Barometric altitude are decoded from the
Transponder interrogation replies through the aircraft electrical system and there are no
connections required between the transponder and the echoUAT.
The echoUAT is supplied power, ground and GPS data via the Molex connector. The
unit is configured via Wi-Fi with a mobile device and outputs ADS-B
‘IN” data via the Wi-
Fi to a mobile device hosting an EFB application. In this configuration, Pin 5 of the
Molex connector outputs ADS-B
“IN” signals for connection to an MFD or EFIS in GDL
format.
