RS485 I

The RS485 input is of the stereo phono type socket.
The + wire from all TD-196 units must be connected to the centre ring or the plug
and the - wire from all TD-196 units must be connected to the tip of the plug, the
large section
(earth or section with the cover screw)
is left unconnected.
If the unit is to be permanently mounted onto a wall, it is possible to connect the
power supply and the RS485 input from the rear of the unit, see Internal
Connections for this application.

The printer output is a standard serial 25 pin D connector type and may be
connected to any EPSOM compatible (LX300 recommended) printer's serial input
port. The output plug is a 25 pin D male connector as found on most IBM or
compatible computer's serial output port. A standard serial printer cable is used for
connection to a printer.
The printer must be set for 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit and 1200 baud
rate.
All print functions are set and initiated from the TD-196 thermostat units.

The display will show the UNIT No. (2 digits), CHANNEL No.
(1 digit)
, TEM-
PERATURE
(of the currently shown unit & channel No.) (4 digits)
and the
STATUS of the currently shown unit number including an audible alarm if the
alarm is active.
