The unit may be fixed or placed in any convenient location and may be up to 500
metres from the furthermost TD-196 unit.

The unit requires 8 to 12 volts a.c. or d.c. at 300 ma. A common 240 ac adapter
which supplies a low voltage output within this range should be used.

The polarity of the low voltage input to the TD-196R is irrelevant and may be
placed either way even if the voltage is DC.

If the unit is to be permanently mounted onto a wall, it is possible to connect the
power supply and the RS485 input from the rear of the unit, see Internal
Connections for this application.
