ID-Lock Smart Installation guide - Ver. 1.3
8
Carelock ACE Split has the optional feature that it will unlock the door 10 seconds after it
loses its Bluetooth connection to the TM2-box. The idea behind this feature, which is
enabled by default, is to function as a security measurement in case of fire; you connect the
TM2-box’s power supply to a power source that will be cut off by the fire alarm.
If you install the TM2-box this way, the lock will unlock the door 10 seconds after the fire
alarm has cut off the power to the TM2-box (because the Bluetooth connection will then be
lost).
Installation of the IDT
The IDT should be mounted next to the door, preferably close to the lock. If there are
several doors next to each other in, e.g., a corridor, then it is important that all IDTs are
mounted on the same side of their respective door. Two IDTs must never be closer than 1
meter from each other.
It may be necessary to adjust the output power of the IDT so that they don’t overlap each
other too much. Inside the IDT there is a potentiometer that can be used for adjusting the
output power; clockwise turn will increase the power.
The radiation from an IDT is close to equal in all directions, and it is not possible to shield it
in one direction because the frequency is so low (approx. 17 kHz). This means that the IDT
field will radiate as much inside of the apartment as outside, causing the ID-lock to trigger
the lock also when a resident is moving around inside the apartment close to the door. This
is another reason why you should lower the output power as much as possible, while
making sure the system still works as intended.
