TROOPER : Negative Pressure System
1.
Drain pressure too high, exceeds 45 PSI, check high
pressure switch setting on where applicable.
2.
Thermal overload has been set higher than the FLA of the
motor, or reset selector is not on HAND (manual) position.
3.
Improper attempt to change voltage.
4.
Note: if a single phase motor is running at less than full
speed, check the capacitor mounted on the top of the
motor.
E.
SEAL - causes of failure:
1.
Drain pressure exceeds 45PSI.
2.
Worn motor bearings.
3.
Run dry, low pressure switch improperly set less than 8
PSI.
4.
Boiling water, steam in pump, Stator often fails first. Refer
to appendix “Boiling points of water under vacuum”.
5.
Abrasive particles in system water, especially when unit is
run without supply.
F.
OVERLOAD - causes of failure:
1.
Particulate contaminants jam moving parts or short
contacts.
2.
Repeated on/off cycling has fused contacts, check that
the overload is set to the Hand (manual) position. Check
strainer screen and hoses for restrictions, these may create
false readings at the pressure switches.
G.
STATOR - causes of failure:
1.
‘FROM MOLD’ line is pressurized, when the unit is running
the gauge on this line should always show a negative
reading.
2.
Drain pressure too low, less than 5 PSI. Check low
pressure switch setting.
3.
Drain pressure too high, exceeds 45 PSI. Check high
pressure switch setting where applicable.
4.
Run dry, low pressure switch improperly set less than
