9.3.2 SLIDE OUT ROOM
EMERGENCY OPERATION
The slide out room can be manually retracted
in case of system failure. Refer to the Triple E
supplied video and the HWH Operator's manual
in the Owner's Information Package for detailed
operating instructions.
Before starting to manually retract the Slide-out
room check the battery voltage. If the voltage is low
have the batteries recharged and try again.
Before manually retracting the slide-out room check
to see if there are any obstructions.
Attach the winch to the fl oor loop bracket located on
the fl oor opposite the slide-out (if equipped) or the
cocktail chair pedestal (depending on the model)
and then hook the strap to the couch seat belt or
special bracket attached to the base of the couch.

Turn the winch crank to apply pressure to the
room.
CAUTION
Maintain a fi rm grip on the winch handle at all
times. Never release the handle when rachet
lever is in the off position and the winch is
loaded. The winch handle could spin violently
and cause personal injury.
Lift up the room on both sides at the same time
(about 10 milimeters or half an inch at a time)
using two bottle jacks placed in the opening
underneath the slide-out room. Use a block of
wood to protect the slide-out fl oor from being
damaged by the jack.
9.4 SLIDE OUT ROOM
TROUBLESHOOTING
1.
Low Battery Voltage:
a. The most common cause of malfunction
is low battery voltage. To ensure
adequate power, take the following steps:
b. Run the motorhome engine while
operating the slide-out. This will ensure
that the engine alternator is delivering
extra charge to the batteries.
c. Connect your shoreline to an external
120-volt power source. This will activate
the converter and charge the batteries.
d. Reduce the electrical load to a minimum
by shutting off all 12-volt lights and
appliances.
2.
Sticking or Binding:
a. If the motorhome is not levelled and
stabilized properly, the tracking system
may bind. Make sure the motorhome is
level and stable.
b. If the slide-out has been in one position
(retracted or extended) the seals may
have a tendancy to stick. This can be
prevented by using a seal dressing
available at your dealer or any RV center.
DO NOT use petroleum products on
these seals as they can cause premature
seal deterioration.
