Programmer’s Notes
When the serial port is used, it is important that the output lines from the printer not be
shorted or back driven. If the signals are not to be used, they should be left open.
Pins 3, 4, and 7 (of the 9 pin connector) are outputs from the printer. If any one of these
signals is grounded or back driven, the other two outputs will be degraded.
The best time to configure the printer by the host with remote configuration is during
system setup or software update.
Applications and Linerless paper
For the most part, the application need not make any adjustments for linerless paper. If
required, the auto-cut command will automatically align to the next cut point. The only
concern for the application is if the cut point and the end of the receipt are close, the
printer may skip to the next cut point on some receipts and not others.
Some types of paper have continuous adhesive backing. In this case the printer need
not align to any specific cut point. In this case when the paper is loaded, the absence of
a block dot on the back of the paper will tell the printer that cut alignment is not required.
When the auto-cut command is issued, the cut will occur as it would on a normal printer.
