GENERAL WARNING

1) Before installing and using this unit, it is essential to safety

and efficiency, that you read these instructions and comply
with the requirements herein. A copy of this manual should
be kept available to any operator. Additional copies can be
provided on request.

2) Do not use this appliance if any of the plates fixed on

the device, or if any of the markings shown thereon,
as indicated at the end of this manual are no longer
present or readable. If marking is by plates, identical plates
can be provided on request. They must be affixed before
continuing with use of the device.

3) Please ensure that any person to whom you entrust the

use of this device knows how to operate it and is able to
fulfil the security requirements that such operation renders
mandatory. This notice must be made available.

4) For professional use, this unit should be placed under

the responsibility of a person familiar with the applicable
regulations, and authority to ensure the application if it is
not the operator.

5) The installation and commissioning of this unit must be

carried out under conditions ensuring the safety of the
installer in compliance with the regulations applicable to
its category.

6) The implementation of this unit must comply with

regulations and safety standards for the installation,
operation, maintenance and inspection of lifting equipment
lifting devices.

7) TRACTEL

®

refuses all liability for the operation of this

equipment in a plant configuration is not described in
this notice.

8) Before using the unit, check that it, and any accessories to

be used with it, is in obvious good condition.

9) Any person using this unit for the first time must check, out

of risk, before applying the load and over a low lift height,
that they have understood all the safety and efficiency of
its handling. 

10) This unit should never be used for operations other than

those described in this notice. It should never be used for
a load greater than the maximum working load marked on
the equipment. It should never be used in explosive
atmospheres.

11) Before using this unit, the operator shall ensure that no

obstacle, including on the ground and above the load, is
likely to prevent it from being lifted. The operator must
constantly have the load in sight during lifting operations.

12) Before performing any load lifting, the operator must

ensure that it is in stable equilibrium and uniformly

distributed on the unit. Furthermore, the operator must

ensure that the various components making up the load

to be lifted, are securely fastened together.

13) Before performing any load lifting, the operator must

ensure that it is not likely to slip or rip in relation to the

device on which it is placed.

14) The device must be seated on a strictly horizontal support,

stable, smooth and strong enough to lift the load safely.

15) It is strictly prohibited to use this device for lifting people.

16) This device should not be used to lift a load that is likely

to move or cause any imbalance.

17) This device is designed for manual use and should never

be motorised.

18) Never place a person or body part under the load. Signpost

and deny access to the area beneath the load.

19) In case of simultaneous use of multiple load lifting devices,

the operator shall ensure, before any manoeuvre, that the

total load to be handled is split evenly between all units and

each unit is not subjected to a load greater than the

Working Load Limit (WLL). TRACTEL

disclaims all liability

in the event that the TRACTEL

®

device is used in

combination with other lifting devices.

20) Any modification of the device beyond the control of

TRACTEL

®

or removal of component parts will exonerate

TRACTEL

®

from all liability.

21) Any assembly or disassembly of this device, not described

in this notice, or repairs made outside the control of

TRACTEL

®

will exonerate TRACTEL

®

from all liability,

especially when original components are replaced with

parts of another origin. 

22) The continuous monitoring of obvious good condition of

the device and its proper maintenance are part of

necessary safety measures. Depending on the nature of

the environment, monitor for corrosion.

23) The unit should be periodically checked by an authorised

TRACTEL

®

repair technician as described in this notice.

24) When the unit is not in use, it must be placed out of reach

of persons not authorised to use it.

25) In the event of final termination of use, place the unit the

disposal under conditions prohibiting its use. Comply with

regulations on environmental protection.
