Monitoring with the UAD Plug-in on Apollo
When using Universal Audio
’
s Apollo Console application, monitoring with the UAD plug-in provides
ultra-low latency processing and guarantees smooth real-time performance.
To use the Console application to set up monitoring:
1.
In your DAW, disable software input monitoring.
2.
In the Universal Audio Console application, click one of the mic preamp channels connected to
the mic, and enable
Stereo Link
mode.
This links the two channels into one stereo channel.
3.
Instantiate the Townsend Labs Sphere plug-in on the first insert of this stereo channel.
4.
Set the channel output to the appropriate monitor destination.
5.
Activate
UAD MON
to just monitor UAD effects, or
UAD REC
to record
and
monitor UAD effects.

Sphere signal chain using the Apollo Console for monitoring
NOTE:
Most Apollo consoles have built mic preamps, which are ideal to use with Sphere. The Apollo 16
should use external preamps. The signal chain shown above may differ slightly in these cases.
See the Apollo Software Manual for more information about how to create monitoring paths.
