The Battery Pack
Removing the Battery Pack
To remove the computer’s battery pack, follow the steps below and refer to Figure 4-1.
1.
Turn off the power to the computer. Disconnect the AC adapter, power cord and
all external cables connected to the computer.
2.
Turn the computer upside down.
3.
Slide open the
cover
to the battery latch and press the
release button
until it clicks.
The battery will pop out slightly (Figure 4-1).
4.
There is a second safety latch that holds the
battery pack
after the
release button
is
pressed. To clear the second latch, insert your fingers in the gap between the
computer and the
battery pack
and push carefully with one hand until the
battery
pack
is free (Figure 4-1).
5.
Firmly grasp the
battery pack
and pull it out (Figure 4-1).
