1 Hardware Overview

1.9 DVD-Multi (CD-R/RW DVD-RAM/R/RW) Drive

This drive is a combination of CD-R/RW, DVD-R/-RW and DVD-RAM Drive. It is full-size
and runs either 12cm (4.72-inch) or 8cm (3.15-inch) DVD/CDs without an adaptor. It is a
high-performance drive that reads DVD at maximum 8-speed, writes DVD-R/-RW at 1-
speed, and reads CD at maximum 24-speed (3,600 KB per second).

The DVD multi drive is shown in Figure 1-10. Specifications for the DVD multi drive are
described in table 1-8.
