Connecting Hardware Devices

Cooling fans

Turn down the guide sheet toward the CPU heat sink and position the new exhaust
fan module in the server.

Removing the exhaust fan module

Slide the new exhaust fan module in the server until the eject lever for the exhaust
fan module clicks to indicate a locked position.

Installing the exhaust fan module

Connect the primary exhaust fan cable to the

J49 FAN

1 connector, and the

redundant fan cable to the

J51 FAN 1-R

connector.

To avoid server damage due to overheating, never connect the exhaust fan
module cable to the redundant exhaust fan connector on the motherboard.
