Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
Note:
Ensure that the engine is cool so that the
oil has had time to drain into the sump.

To keep dirt, grass clippings, etc., out of the
engine, clean the area around the oil-fill cap and
dipstick before removing it (

Changing the Engine Oil and the Engine-Oil
Filter
Service Interval:
Every 100 hours—For Kohler
engines—change the engine oil and
the engine-oil filter.
Note:
The drain plug is attached to the drain hose.
1.
Park the machine so that the drain side is slightly
lower than the opposite side to ensure that the
oil drains completely.
2.
Disengage the blade-control switch (PTO) and
engage the parking brake.
3.
Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
4.
Drain the oil from the engine.

Torque the plug to 14 N·m (125 in-lb).
