Disassembly (Fig. 1)
1. Park machine on a level surface, lower cutting
decks, stop engine, apply parking brake and remove
key from the ignition switch.
2. Disassemble steering tower as needed using Figure
1 as a guide.
Assembly (Fig. 1)
1. Assemble steering tower using Figure 1 as a guide.
A. Thrust washer(s) (item 24) on steering column
are used as needed to remove end play of steering
shaft.
B. If steering wheel was removed, torque hex nut
that secures steering wheel from 16 to 20 ft--lb (22
to 27 N--m) .
