Premaintenance
Procedures
Pre-Maintenance Safety
•
Keep all parts of the machine in good working condition
and all hardware tightened, especially blade-attachment
hardware. Replace all worn or damaged decals.
•
Never allow untrained personnel to service the machine.
•
Before adjusting, cleaning, or repairing the machine, do
the following:
1.
Move the machine to level ground.
2.
Disengage the drives.
3.
Lower the cutting units.
4.
Move the traction pedal to the N
EUTRAL
position.
5.
Engage the parking brake.
6.
Move the throttle switch to the
LOW
-
IDLE
position.
7.
Shut off the engine and remove the key.
8.
Wait for all moving parts to stop.
•
Whenever you park or store the machine, or leave it
unattended, lower the cutting units unless you use a
positive mechanical lock.
•
If possible, do not perform maintenance on the machine
while the engine is running. If you must run the engine to
perform maintenance on the machine, keep your hands,
feet, other body parts, and clothing away from all moving
parts, the mower-discharge area, and the underside of
the mowers.
•
Do not touch parts of the machine or an attachment
that may be hot from operation. Allow the parts to cool
before attempting to maintain, adjust, or service them.
•
Use jack stands to support the machine and/or its
components when required.
•
Carefully release pressure from components with stored
energy.
•
If your machine requires major repairs or if you desire
assistance, contact an Authorized Toro Distributor.
•
Use only genuine Toro replacement parts and accessories.
Replacement parts and accessories made by other
manufacturers could be dangerous, and such use could
void the product warranty.
