32-40-03 Brake Cylinder

Removal

NOTICE

Brake fluid can damage paint or other material.

▶

Cover the affected areas with appropriate clothes.

▶

Clean up immediately spilt brake fluid.

▶

Remove the brake cylinder mounting plate from the vertical part of
control panel (4 Allen screws).

▶

Pull the assembly some centimeters aft.

▶

Disconnect the choke control knob from the mounting plate
(1 counter nut).

▶

Pull out the brake cylinder about 20 cm.

▶

Disconnect the brake line (1 nut).

▶

Remove brake cylinder from mounting plate (4 bolts).

Installation

Install in reverse sequence of removal.

Removal

▶

Remove main wheel from aircraft as per Chapter

▶

32-40-02 Main

Wheel.

▶

Remove brake from main wheel (1 central nut).

Installation

Install in reverse sequence of removal.

Disassembly

▶

Remove brake from main wheel as per above paragraph.

▶

Note position of wheel axle.

▶

Remove wheel axle (1 set screw).

▶

Remove brake lining backing plate (1 rod with securing clip each
side).

▶

Disassemble brake.
