TROUBLESHOOTING
Malfunction
Possible Reasons
Solution
Heat pump not
turning on
• Power source fault
• Loose power wire connection
• Power fuse burnt out
• Cut off the power source and check
• Check the power wire connection
• Check the fuse
Water pump is
running but no water
circulating or pump
is creating excessive
noise.
• Low water in the system
• Air in the water system
• Valves are not fully opened
• The water filter is blocked
• Fill water into the water supply system
• Discharge air from the water system
• Open all the valves in the system
• Clean the water filter
Low heating capacity
• Refrigerant deficiency
• Bad insulation on water system
• Low evaporator heat transfer
• Low water flow
• Refrigerant leak in system, find & fix leak then
refill refrigerant.
• Improve heat preservation
• Wash the evaporator
• Ensure clear water path & clean water filter
Heavy frosting, low
heating capacity
• The evaporator is too dirty
• Defrost sensor fault
• Internal 4 way valve fault
• Too long defrosting duration
• Wash evaporator
• Change the defrost sensor
• Check the solenoid if it is energised
• Change the temperature for entering defrosting
mode and duration
Loud noise coming
from compressor
• Liquid refrigerant entered into the
compressor
• The interior component of the
compressor is faulty
• Check if the thermostatic expansion valve is
faulty
• Change the compressor
Compressor is not
operating
• Power source fault
• Compressor AC contactor damaged
• Loose wire connection
• Over-heat protection
• High water temperature
• Low water flow volume
• Check power source, change faulty components
• Change the contactor
• Check every wire connection to compressor
• Check for a gas leakage
• Bring down the water temperature value
• Clean the filter, check if air is inside the water
system, & check water flow switch.
Fan is not operating
• Fan motor wire loose
• Fan motor burnt out
• Fan AC contactor fault
• Check every wire connection to fan
• Change the motor
• Change the AC contactor
Low water flow
protection
• Circulation pump fault
• Circulation pump too small
• Blockage of water path or filter
• Incorrect setting on flow controller
• Flow switch fault
• Check operation of circulation pump and fix
• Change to a bigger pump
• Clear water path & water filter
• Adjust or change the water flow control device
• Replace flow switch
High compressor

• Low water flow
• Thermostatic expansion valve

• Check and adjust the openings or replace
