INSTALLATION

HEAT

PUMP LOCATION

1.  Please make sure lifting and transportation of heat

pump is safely done according to its size and weight.
Contact supplier if there are signs of external or
internal damage from transportation.

2.  Installation must allow adequate maintenance

access (through the front access cover), water fittings
and electrical connections.

3.  Ensure the unit is well ventilated by adhearing to

clearance requirements. Ensure the cold exhaust air
cannot flow back to the air intake. Ducting should be
used if clearance or ventilation can’t be achieved or  if
the cold exhaust air can be utilised elsewhere.

4.  If the unit is installed outdoors then it should be

raised to avoid intrusion of water. In snowy areas it
is important to shelter the heat pump and prevent
accumulated snow from blocking the air passages .

5.  The unit should not be installed near hazardous areas

such as flammable gas or corrosive environments.
Locate the unit away from falling leaves, dust, sand
and high-frequency equipment.

6.  The unit must be installed on a reliable base or

framework. Weight capacity of framework should
be 3 times the gross weight and account for wind
loading etc. Included anti-vibration rubber pads
should be attached to all four base legs to dampen
the effects of heat pump operation. Don’t over-
tighten  rubber pads.

7.  If the unit is installed on a balcony or on a rooftop, the

installation location must meet the allowable bearing
capacity of building structure. Contact local council
for structural approval requirements. Suspended
installation with public access underneath should be
avoided.

8.  Operating noise of the unit should be considered,

keep clear of bedroom windows etc. Do not install
the heat pump close to a road or path to avoid water
splashing on the unit. If possible, position the heat
pump away from areas easily accessible to children.

CLEARANCE

REQUIREMENTS

The heat pump clearance shall be as follows:

No obstacles in front of Heat Pump

Obstacle above the Heat Pump

Obstacle in front of Heat Pump

Several Heat Pumps installed in a row
