Stabilising the Chipper
To reduce the risk of accidents, the chipper must be kept in a stable position at all times.
Hitched to a vehicle
The chipper handbrake should be released. The prop stand and jockey wheel should be
stored in the towing position (Figure 4).
Unhitched and ready for operation
The chipper must be made level and secure by applying the handbrake, lowering the prop
stand and jockey wheel. If wheel chocks are available they should be used for extra
security. (Figure 5).

For prolonged storage the handbrake may be left released, providing the chipper is
prevented from moving by the use of wheel chocks.
The discharge tube must be pointing towards the tow head.
