WASTEWATER SYSTEM
GENERAL INFORMATION
Th
e waste drainage system was designed to provide adequate and safe storage and/or disposal of waste
materials. All of the materials used in the fabrication of this system are tested by a nationally recog-
nized testing laboratory.
Th
e drainage system uses plastic piping and
fi
ttings connected to the sinks,
toilet, and holding tanks.
Th
is plumbing permits the drainage of these
fi
xtures to an outside termination.
Th
e vehicle should be
reasonably level for best operation of both of the wastewater systems.
Th
ere are two, separate wastewater systems.
Th
e gray-water system is for wastewater from the sinks and
shower.
Th
e black-water system is for sewage waste from the toilet. Each wastewater tank has its own
control valve and both drain through a common sewer-drain hose.
4. Pour the chlorine solution into the tank by accessing the potable water
fi
ll located outside the pas-
senger side of the motorhome.
5. Remove the water
fi
lter and put
fi
lter housing back on.
6. Open each faucet, in turn, including the kitchen faucet, bath faucet, inside and outside showers,
turning “on” both the hot and cold faucets and
fl
ushing the toilet until all of the air has been purged
from the pipes and the water runs freely.
Th
e entire system will then be
fi
lled with the sanitizing solu-
tion.
7. Allow the 50 ppm disinfecting solution to stand in the system at least four hours.
8. Drain the system and
fl
ush it with freshwater.
Th
e water system needs to be
fl
ushed with water
repeatedly, if necessary, until there is no chlorine taste or smell le
ft
in the system. To remove any exces-
sive chlorine taste or odor that might remain, prepare a solution of one quart of vinegar to
fi
ve gallons
of water. “Rock” the tank containing the solution by moving the vehicle forward and backward several
times to clean the tank; then drain that tank and re
fi
ll with clean water.
