6.1.3 Electrical Systems

hec each battery cell, ma ing sure the electrolyte levels meet the recommen -
dations in chapter .
6.1.4 Installing the Propellers
e recommend having the propellers installed by your iara achts dealer or
other qualified marine service acility.
6.1.4.1 Volvo
®
Engines
o install the propellers, ollow the procedure outlined in the engine user manual.
6.1.4.2 Cummins
®
Engines
e ore beginning, be sure to install the propellers on the correct sha ts. they
are installed on the wrong sha ts, the boat will move in reverse when shi ted
into orward.
o install the propellers Figure 6-1
. emove adhesive tape, am nuts and cotter pin rom the propeller end o
the sha t.
. emove adhesive tape and pull the ey out o the eyway.
. lean the sha t end, especially the tapered sur aces, to remove all or -
eign material.
. lean the internal taper o the propeller hub. hec or burrs or machin -
ing imper ections. eburr and correct any imper ections.
. lap fitting the propellers is desired, e ecute it at this time.
. ith ey removed, install the propeller on the sha t. y hand, push the
propeller onto the sha t until it is seated on the taper. ith a fine point
marker such as a Sharpie ® , mar the location o the orward end o the
propeller hub on the sha t.
. emove the propeller.
