To Start the Cummins
®
Engines:
1. pen all hatches to the bilge area. nvestigate and remedy any uel vapors
that are detected.
2. hec the engines oil levels.
3. hec the engines coolant level.
4. pen the engines raw water seacoc s.
5. pen the engine uel supply and return valves. he uel valves are located
in the orward engine room Figure 5-4 .
CAUTION
!
Prior to starting engines, ensure fuel supply and return valves are in
the open position. A fuel valve is open when it is parallel to its asso-

8. hec the voltage and amperage or each battery ban using the system
monitors on the ower ontrol anel. the voltage is below volts or
above volts, stop the engines and investigate the cause be ore pro

ceeding. e er to the system monitor manu acturer s user manual or
more in ormation.
9. ress the button located in the starboard salon end table
cabinet. un the blower or five minutes prior to starting the engines.
. a e sure the engine control levers are in the neutral position.
11. urn the port ignition ey to the position the first position cloc wise .
ait five seconds.
