Subtitle language
Audio language
A movie or video programme may be recorded in more than one language (up to 8) on the disc. So you can hear
the dialogue in your own language (if available) or in the original language of the movie. Set-up, page 21.

Press PLAY to start playback.

Press the green
key ; you see the subtitles display
on-screen with (possibly) the abbreviation of the
language.

Use the
arrows to switch "ON" or "OFF" the
subtitles.

To exit subtitle display press the green
key.
• if the abbrevation of the language is not available "- - - " appears
on the screen
Subtitles in many languages (up to 32) may be recorded on a DVD. See page 21 how to define your
preferential language.

With some discs, it is possible to change the language of a film and its subtitles. Two coloured keys ( ,
)
on your remote control offer easy access to this function while viewing.
•
Some DVDs provide a disc menu. Temporary change of languages (audio, subtitles) may also be possible
by pressing the
menu button during playback.
•
All the changes (audio, subtitles) return to the player’s initial settings after the disc is removed or power is
switched off.
