Proceed according to the following steps:
Introduce opened parts of SSCA and valve adaptor inside the glove box.
Insert the Kapton disk to the crucible housing
Set the O-ring to its lodging.
Prepare the sample on the crucible as described in
Preparing the Sample Outside a Glove Box
. Make a smooth surface with the glass slide.
Set the crucible in its housing, by taking care to the magnet effect.
Set the cover by screwing the 8 M4x8 mm screws. Tighten by choosing the screw in symmetry.
Inside glove box, connect valve adaptor to horizontal gas connector of the cover.
Close the
valve.
At the end, proceed to the sample holder exit from the glove box.
Insertion of the SSCA in the ARL EQUINOX
Insert the sample holder in the sample holder mounting hole of the instrument. Do not use any un-
necessary force. The sample holder and the mounting hole (Ø 30 mm) are designed to avoid any
mechanical clearance resulting in irreproducible results. The pin of the sample holder has to be inser-
ted in the reference hole.

In this case, the SSCA is set inside an ARL EQUINOX 100, the valve adaptor is set on the back gas
connector.
