8. SPECIFICATION
8. SPECIFICATION
The TouchPrint printers are designed to meet the EMC requirements UN
ECE NR 10 (regulation 10),becoming mandatory by October 31st 2014.
8.1 TYPE OF APPLICATION
Suitable for printing transport temperatures measurements.
Suitable for storing logged records from certified temperature recorders.
8.2 AUTONOMOUS POWER
Ply Carbon-monofluoride Lithium (BR technology) battery gives 5 years
unpowered retention of data and time/date at a maximum ambient
temperature of 70°C. The battery is not user replaceable.
8.3 PROTECTION
IP65 for Trailer models, IP20 for Rigid models.
In the event of the printer being subject to drips or spillage, it should be
allowed to dry out before use.
At extreme ambient temperatures, an algorithm has been put in place to
protect the printer:
– At High Ambient Temperatures (above 45ºC), the TouchPrint will
stop for around 30s in the middle of the printout – and then resume
printing. This is required to allow the printing mechanism to cool
down
– Also at Low Ambient Temperatures (under -10ºC), the
responsiveness of the touchscreen is affected. The user will notice
that the response time of the touchscreen could be delayed by 1 or 2
seconds - The user needs to wait those 2 seconds for the screen to
refresh.
8.4 SUPPLY VOLTAGE
DC 10.5 V to 32 V.
The Maximum absorbed currents are:
– 2,2 A DC @ 12 Vdc, in printing operations;
– 180 mA DC @ 12 Vdc, when not printing;
– 1,2 A DC @ 24 Vdc, in printing operations;
– 100 mA DC @ 24 Vdc, when not printing.
8.5 STORAGE CAPACITY
Memory capacity is sufficient to retain data over a period of 1 year
maximum.
In the case of the TouchPrint printer, the data storage is only in the benefit
of quicker and more printing capabilities, henceforth the data keeping is
only temporary and variable based on the data logger recording interval.
