The RES-32XEL is designed to comply with ISO10055 (see
1.2.3.3 Electrostatic Discharge
The RES-32XEL has the provision to ground the chassis to minimize the effects of
ESD on equipment operation. It is designed to tolerate electrostatic pulses up to 15
kilovolts (KV) with no impact on system operation.
1.2.3.4 Packaging and Shipping
The RES-32XEL is packaged in a reusable shipping container. Approximate weight
of an empty container and two AC power cords is 8.8 pounds (4 kg).
Approximate weight of a RES-32XEL (loaded with 2 hard-disk drives, a combo CD-
RW/DVD-ROM drive, 1 AGP graphics card, 5 full-length PCI cards, a floppy drive,
a CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive, a DDS/DAT tape drive, and 2 power supplies) is under
42 pounds (19 kg).
Therefore, both the shipping container and a fully installed RES-32XEL weigh
under 51 pounds (23 kg).
