Using CBR with CBL or with CBL programs
Using CBR as a conventional motion detector with CBL
The
CBR
can be used as a conventional motion detector with the Texas Instruments
CBL
é
(Calculator-Based Laboratory
é
) system.
A special cable is required to connect
the
CBR
to
CBL
.
You may order the cable by calling
1

-
TI
-
CARES.
Do not connect
CBR
to
CBL
at the same time that
CBR
is connected to a calculator. The
calculator must be connected to
CBL
.
You may need to change the
CBL
program as noted below. The
RANGER
program does not
function with
CBL
.
Using CBR with programs written for CBL
You can use
CBR
with most
CBL
programs written for only a motion detector with no
changes or only minor changes to the program.
To stop sampling:
With some
CBL
programs using
REALTIME=YES
data collection,
CBR
continues to sample indefinitely. To stop data collection at the end of the sample time, you
can do either of the following:
0
Press
¤
on the
CBR
.
0
Add statements to the existing
CBL
program to send the command {6,0} to the
CBR
. The
statement must be at a point after the data is transferred and displayed. For example:
{6,0}
"
L6:SEND L6
To turn sound off or on:
To turn off the sound, add statements to the existing
CBL
program to send the command {6,3} to the
CBR
. The statement must be at a point before
data collection begins. For example:
{6,3}
"
L6:SEND L6
To turn on the sound, simply run the
RANGER
program.
In case of difficulty:
If you run a
CBL
program and
CBR
appears to be unresponsive or
locked up, run the
RANGER
program. Check the TI web site (see page 36), which may have
an updated version of the
CBL
program.
