Redefine Point
(Macintosh and DOS only)
The
Redefine Point
tool modifies the current definition of any point, as long as the new definition
does not create a circular reference.
A circular reference occurs when a point that defines an object is redefined to be on that object.
An example is defining the center point of a circle to be a point on the circle. This is not allowed.
Redefining a point
1.
Select
Redefine Point
from the
Construct
toolbox.

Press and hold the mouse down on any point.
A dialogue box appears with the following options:

Point
– redefines the point as a basic point at the
same location.

Point on Object
– redefines the point to be on an
object.

Intersection Point(s)
– redefines the point to be at
the intersection of two objects.

Transfer to another point
– transfers the point to
another existing point.

Select the desired option. If you selected
Point
, step 4
is not necessary.

Click to select an object compatible with the
selected option and to assign its new definition.
Attach an existing segment to a circle.
Select the endpoint.
Click to create a point on a circle.
The segment is attached to the circle.
