Concept S SW + R Dolby Digital/dts
Connection: Aerial · Speakers
* To be purchased separately
Please ensure that no individual
exposed wire from a cable comes
into contact with any free
terminals, the rear of the device
or other uninsulated cables (e.g.
from other speakers).
Caution:
Connecting the cables with
the incorrect phases can result
in thin sound, weak bass and
reduced stereo characteristics.
For multi-channel surround
systems it is also important for
all speakers to be connected with
the correct polarity to ensure an
appropriate three-dimensional
atmosphere and the correct
alignment of the sound.
Connecting the aerial
The use of the supplied aerials is essential as a
minimum requirement for disturbance-free re-
ception. Please connect the aerials as shown in
the illustration.
A standard coaxial plug at the end of a coaxial
cable* (e.g. a cable connection) can be connected
directly to the FM coax input (instead of the sup-
plied auxiliary aerial).
Connecting the satellite speakers
The speaker cable is used to connect the five satel
-
lite speakers for the treble and mid ranges to the
appropriate speaker outputs Front L/R, Rear L/R
and Front-Centre of the Concept S SW+R Dolby Dig-
ital/dts. To do this, strip the ends of the speaker ca-
ble (about 7 mm) and twist the cable. The speakers
and the fully active Concept S subwoofer have cor-
responding [+] and [-] clamps. It is important that
you observe the correct polarity when connecting
the speakers: The positive pole of the speaker to
the positive pole of the subwoofer amplifier and the
negative pole of the speaker to the negative pole of
the subwoofer amplifier. (“Speaker Output”). To do
this, press the clip and insert the ends of the cable.
