For more than 60 years, JBL has been delivering
products embodying the technology developed
in the professional arena – equipping leading
recording studios and movie theaters, as well
as live-music reinforcement in venues ranging
from dance clubs to Woodstock. We continue
to transform this expertise into products that
provide the impact and excitement of a live
performance. The JBL

®

experience is for

enthusiasts who won’t settle for anything
less than “live” at home or on the go.

JBL GTO subwoofers utilize a proprietary frame
that delivers maximum excursion while reducing
overall mounting depth of the subs, facilitating
broader installation options. This frame design
also ensures that the motor structure stays
centered in the voice coil gap, for long-term
durability and reliability.

PROGRESSIVE SPIDER

Each GTO subwoofer features a progressive
spider, which offers better control at the
excursion limits than the linear spider
commonly used by our competitors. This
progressive spider reduces distortion at
high output levels.

VENTED POLEPIECES

These provide additional cooling to the motor
structure, resulting in an increase in the
subwoofers’ thermal power-handling capability.

PRELOADED
ENCLOSURES

Three preloaded enclosures using GTO subs
are offered in the Grand Touring

®

Series. No

one has as much experience as JBL engineers
in designing and building subwoofer enclosures.
JBL sub enclosures have traveled thousands
of miles, touring with some of the world’s
greatest bands, and have filled stadiums,
auditoriums and local clubs with rockin’ bass
for half a century.

These car audio subwoofer enclosures are
built to the same exacting standards as JBL
professional audio boxes, and are designed to
be rugged and sound great. GTO enclosures
feature 3/4" medium-density fiberboard (MDF)
construction, high-quality binding-post
terminals and GTO subs. Unlike so many
one-note-wonder enclosed subwoofers, GTO
enclosures feature wide-bandwidth design,
which provides more output between 20Hz
and 40Hz, and ensures that you get all the
bass you’ve paid for.
