Troubleshooting
The following instructions should help you to solve problems. If this doesn’t work, please contact our hotline (see page 3).
Mind the warranty instructions.

The device doesn’t work,
the display is dark.
No power supply.
Make sure that the mains plug is securely
inserted.
Use another device to check that the socket is
functioning.
No CD/DVD playback
No CD/DVD inserted.
Insert a CD/DVD.
CD/DVD inserted upside down.
Insert the CD/DVD with the printed side up.
The region code of the DVD does not
match the device.
Insert a DVD with a matching region code.
Wrong type of CD/DVD.
Insert the right type of CD/DVD.
CD/DVD damaged or dirty.
Clean or change the CD/DVD.
Condensation in the device.
Take out the CD/DVD and let the device stand
for one to two hours while activated.
No image
Television is not on.
Turn on the television.
Wrong television AV input selected.
Select the right television AV input (e. g.
HDMI 1).
DVD receiver set to the wrong video output
or to the wrong HDMI resolution.
Check the settings and change if necessary
(see page 13 “Video output” and “HD resolu-
tion”). To see the display, create a video
connection to the television via

composite
if necessary (see page 10).
Connector cable not wired properly or sits
loose.
Correct the cable connections.
Connector cable damaged.
Replace the connector cable.
CD/DVD dirty.
Clean the CD/DVD.
Display fuzzy/distorted.
CD/DVD damaged or dirty.
Clean or change the CD/DVD.
Television or device has the wrong colour
standard (PAL/NTSC) setting.
Change the colour standard (PAL/NTSC)
setting. PAL is the correct standard in Western
Europe (except for France).
Disturbance by interconnected devices,
e. g. video recorders.
Directly connect the devices.
The DVD receiver has an incorrect display
format setting.
Change the display format to the correct set-
ting (see page 13).
“NO DISC” in the display.
CD/DVD damaged, dirty, incompatible or
inserted the wrong way around.
Clean or change the CD/DVD.
Skipping to the next track
and/or chapter is not work-
ing properly.
Some DVDs do not support the skip func-
tion, for example when playing warnings
at the beginning of the DVD.
Continue playback.
The DVD only has one chapter.
Alternative: Fast forward.
No audio or not all audio
channels can be heard.
Speakers wired incorrectly.
Check and correct the wiring.
The AV assignment is incorrect.
Correct the AV assignment (see page 14).
Wrong DVD audio track selected.
Press the button

“On-Screen” and select
another audio language.
The DVD receiver is set to mute (“MUTE”).
Press button

to deactivate the mute func-

The speaker is deactivated.
