With the menu, you can set most functions of your
CP 5100 DR. You control the menu with the remote con-
trol; the menu itself is shown on the connected TV screen.
Important
The menu functions are only available if “DISC”
is selected as source.
Both devices must be turned on and the CP 5100 DR
picture must be visible on the television.

Adjusting the display on the television:
4:3 Pan Scan
– 16:9 movies are shown with the full height
on a 4:3 TV-set, but the sides are cropped.
4:3 Letterbox
– 16:9 movies are shown with full width on
a 4:3 TV set with black bars on the top and bottom.
16:9 Wide –
Correct setting for 16:9 TV-sets.

“ TV Format”
Adjusting the transmission encoding system for the con-
nected television:
NTSC
– American standard
PAL
– European standard
If in doubt, consult the operating instructions of your
television.
“ HD-Resolution”
Setting the resolution for HD playback. Possible values:
480p/576p

720p
,
1080i
,
1080p
You can also adjust these settings with the special func-
tion button “Resolution” (see “Special function buttons” on
page 16).
“ Video Output”
Activating the analog video output:
SCART
– Connection to the jack

resolution via a SCART cable.
Component I
– Connection to the component output

“Component” with normal resolution (interlaced compo-
nent).
Component P
– Connection to the component output

“Component” with higher resolution ( progressive compo-
nent).

“ Lip Sync”
Digital image-processing in the TV-set requires a certain
amount of time. To keep the image and sound in sync,
televisions delay the sound by a few milliseconds. To en-
sure that the sound of your DVD receiver is also in sync,
you can set the receiver’s audio delay from 0 to 250 ms
here. For this, move the marker on the scale using the
navigation buttons
