SERVICE
4 . Test the resistance between all three motor terminals
and the motor case as shown below . The ohmmeter
should read “o .L .” or open . a shorted winding indi
cates a faulty motor .

5 . The motor encoder and temperature sender are
non-serviceable components of the drive motor . The
motor encoder senses rotor position, speed, and
direction . The encoder is integrated into an internal
roller bearing assembly . See “Curtis 1232 Led faults”
in the TroubLeShooTInG section for encoder related
faults .
The temperature sender senses the propel motor
temperature . Test the resistance of the temperature
sender using an ohmmeter and then compare the
values to the chart below . replace the motor
assembly if the resistance values are out of the
specified range .
