4. Reinstall the the support bracket / flange
bearing onto the steering channel. Loosely
install the hardware.
DO NOT COMPLETELY
TIGHTEN HARDWARE.
Hardware is
tightened during later adjustment. (Fig. 32)

5. Check the steering chain tension. The
steering chain should flex 3 mm (0.125 in) at
the center of the chain. (Fig. 33)

Older Design Machines:
Push the support
plate weldment and tighten hardware (24
Nm /18.5 ft lbs) to secure the support plate
weldment to the steering channel. (Fig. 34)

Newer Design Machines:
Tighten the
steering tension hardware (A) and then
tighten hardware (B) (24 Nm / 18.5 ft lbs) to
secure the support plate weldment to the
steering channel. (Fig. 35)

7. Recheck the steering chain tension. Adjust as
