2.10 Transferring Waypoint Files
Waypoint (
.way
) files are composed of any number of waypoints that
can then be displayed on the TeleType GPS navigation screen.
Waypoint files allow you to store waypoints and manually or
automatically transfer waypoints to another computer.
Waypoint files are useful for aviation route planning and organization.
The name of the waypoint file you are working with is by default
general.way
and is stored in the application folder of TeleType GPS
program. You can create your own waypoint files with your own name if
you prefer and store them in a different folder.
Steps For Exporting Waypoints to the PDA:
1. In order to export waypoints to the PDA, first create waypoints. Instructions for creating waypoints can be
found in section, creating a waypoint .
2. The waypoints you created should be in general.way .
3. Go to the Manage Maps window under the File menu. You should see the name of the folder in the
Manage Maps Window ( Note: You will not see the folder icon. Only the name). In this case, the file name
should be general.way .
4. Select Export All Maps to the PDA.
This will also transfer any maps you have loaded at the time.
5. A small window will come up asking you to select where you want to save the files being transferred.
Choose Main Memory or SD Card.
6. After you have selected the storage type, click on the Export button to start the transfer process.
Exporting waypoints to your PDA.
Steps For Transferring Waypoints from PDA to PC:
1. To transfer waypoints from the PDA to PC, you will need to create waypoints. To create waypoints, please
follow the instructions in section, creating a waypoint .
2. Open Microsoft ActiveSync on your PC and go to File > Explore .
